Known limitations
Things the audit cannot yet see or do. If your report is one of these, we already know; if it is not, it goes to a person.
- Capital One shares only 90 days of history
Plaid receives at most 90 days from Capital One, so a Capital One-only portfolio is always judged on 90 days and marked provisional. Verdicts are still given; annual credits are scaled at most 4x. (since 2026-09-02)
- Portal bookings are matched by statement string
A credit that only pays through an issuer travel portal (The Edit, Amex Travel, Capital One Travel, Citi Travel, Delta Stays) counts as used only when the charge posts under the portal’s own statement string. If your portal booking posted under a different description, the credit reads "reachable, not used" — tell us the exact statement line and we will add it. (since 2026-09-02)
- Charges without a Plaid category evidence less
When a bank gives Plaid no category for a charge, only brand names (Marriott, Delta) count as evidence; generic words like "hotel" or "airline" do not. This undercounts rather than overcounts. (since 2026-09-02)
- Off-card credits cannot be observed
Credits delivered inside a merchant’s app (Uber Cash, Apple subscriptions) never appear as statement lines, so they are counted on the assumption the card is set as the payment method there. (since 2026-09-02)
- Email-link sign-in inside another app’s browser
Opening the sign-in link inside Gmail’s or Reddit’s built-in browser can land you in a different browser than the one that requested it; the page then asks for your email again. Open the link in Safari or Chrome instead. (since 2026-09-02)
